Adversity, similar to lava, seems to destroy everything in its path. But from the ashes and smoke arise new, better and stronger things that perhaps would not have been born otherwise.
I have captured in this work a kaleidoscope of emotions using acrylics and embossing and gilding techniques on plaster, creating a texture that invites the touch. In the expressionism of its composition, I seek to convey the resilience and splendor that spring from adversity. This piece radiates a vibrant energy that will fill any space it occupies with life and conversation.
